JOÃO FIGUEIREDO
João Figueiredo was born in Lisbon in 1970. In its academic passage, he dedicated several years to the study of Art History. are enclosed and a course of cinema of animation in the Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian. One took his license degree in Design in 1993, at IADE. In 2000, "Death By Nature" had appeared its first Still-life in the exposition, sponsored by BCP. The interest for the Still-life, had its continuity in "Pear-pectivs" in 2001. One year later, and in partnership with the artist Luis Jacinto, presents "Forbidden Fruits". In 2004, "Sin to be described" is awarded with the "Nadir Afonso Prize in the Fair of Art Contemporary of the Estoril. In this exactly year "Lilliput Chamber" happens with the sponsorship of the Barclays Bank and marks the end of its phase for Still-life, the one that he calls "Stories". 2005 represents the year of a turn out in his career. With the sponsor of BPN Bank, in "Pictures of Memory" it invokes the "Academy" when using photographic reproductions of classic fine-art. "I looked through my painting to give a new immortality to them; when dissecting them in XXI century, subvert I recouped them... ", "Observing through the times and to revisit these fine-art works is to approach them of our time. Nominee for one for some awards, as the" Vespeira Award" or "Arthur Bual award", receives in 2005 the honrosa mention from the "D. Fernando II award"
