St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

This portrait of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini is in oil on wood measuring 10" x 8" was done from a small black & white photograph of Francesca when she was a young woman. She founded her own order, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She also established schools, orphanages, and hospitals. She is the patron saint of immigrants and the first U.S. citizen to be canonized. She was born in Italy in 1850 and died in 1917.
