Rejection Road

Rejection

My heart is heavy with regret
as you turn and walk away.
I stand here wondering what to do
to make you want to stay.

A hole has opened in my heart;
one that will never heal.
Let us make another start.
My love for you is real.

What have I done to hurt you?
I have done my very best
to be there when you needed me.
Have I not passed the test?

Perhaps I said some hurtful thing
that made you turn away.
If I did, please forgive me.
We can make it if you stay.

I have loved you unconditionally
and prayed for you each day;
God keep you safe and happy
and guide you on your way.

As you fade into the distance
on that dark and lonely road
I pray God walk beside you
and help you bear your load.

Whatever road you choose in life
may it be broad and clear
and filled with love and happiness
and things that you hold dear.

May you become all you can be,
and your every dream come true.
May what you seek come to you,
as happiness you pursue.

Perhaps in the distant future
in some unknown place and day,
when memory of the present
completely fades away,

We will be brought together
and immediately recognize
the never ending spark of love
seen in each other's eyes.

Though oceans become deserts
and the mountains erode to sand
our souls will last forever
according to God's plan.

So now the lonely wait begins
and my soul will wither away
until the day you are back to stay
and our love continues then.

Beautiful Photograph John it's my first view of your work and I am very impressed with the photograph and the poem although it is very sad for you and I can feel the sadness and can relate to the experience. I hope every thing works out.

This is an image so fitting for the poignant and memorable poetry that you have written. This leaves me with strong feelings of love and loss. Blessings to you in all roads of your life.

Wowowowow! The poem is amazing, and so heart felt! And the photo could not be more perfect for the poem! I hope things are so much better for you than when you wrote it! But God, always has a better plan if we just listen to Him. :)
