High above the Arkansas River atop Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas. The legend of Petit Jean is about a young girl who stowed away and came as a boy to America in search of her beloved and her journey ended on top of Petit Jean mountain which was named for her. It is a legend of intrigue and love. Her gravesite is on top of the mountain overlooking the Arkansas River.
