JESUS INDICATED THAT PEOPLE MAY NEED A DOCTOR IN ORDER TO GET WELL. Luke 5:31. In this passage Jesus was teaching that righteous people don’t need to repent, but only sinners do! (Verse 32). As part of the analogy, He points out that sick people, not healthy ones, are those in need of seeing a doctor. By the use of such an analogy, Jesus clearly endorses the practice of consulting a doctor when you are sick! Certainly from this it is clear that He saw nothing wrong with consulting a physician when you are sick.
