Love your crepe myrtle, if we don't go away I may just plant a couple. We grew them in Brisbane when we lived there, they are very showy.
I used to grow roses before John took up art, these days I do not get the time to look after them so as soon as I get some time I am going to dig them out.
My front garden will then be mainly natives with some olives, the back garden has a rainforest effect plus some fruit trees.
