"COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE" ~ HARLEQUIN, COLOMBINE AND PIERROT ~ (acrylic on canvas/160x100/2009)~~~Price: 7.500 Euro / 10.272 USD~~~ Carnival in Venice, Italy, is a time to dress up in costumes...dance, and to make music. The "Commedia dell'Arte" is a troup of actors who would perform around 1650, all through Italy and eventually also in France, outdoors and also for "The Royality" in their Palaces. Three of the characters in the Commedia dell'Arte were: Harlequin, the acrobat...and, Colombine who was Harlequin's lover. Pierrot, was the dreamer, the nostalgic clown.
