LOL no, no underlying grass was harmed in the making of this picture! Subject in full sunlight while background is in shadow...then PS gamma adjust background shadow to black! :o)

I'm curious if you burned down whatever was around these flowers. The effect is unexpected, and I find the beauty of the flowers more powerful because of the contrasted starkness around them. I really like it.
I looked at every photograph you have of flowers, this one is my favorite. Ima daisy fan anyway, but he way the yellow flowers are immerging fromt he black background, is wonderful. Perfection
