Nice work would be an understatement, this is great. Im a fan of your work and this is a great example of why. Love the frame also.

Artist Reply: Perry, thank you for your kind comments. I repainted the Lupine flowers three times (which is why, as a self-taught artist, I like oil paint.) As I was starting the painting, I tried to photograph it in the field, but the wind blew it face down in the dirt - on wet oil paint! So now some of that dirt adds to the texture! No wonder I am mostly a "studio painter!" See my comments to Emily about the frame.

LUV THE FRAMING, SPECTACULAR LANDSCAPE!

Artist Reply: Emily, thank you for your kind comments - always. I found the frame in a thrift store in Sedona, Arizona. It was coated with an ugly gold spray paint, but I could see it had character. I tried to strip it down to the bare wood, but instead it came off in layers and I realized it looked better this way. I planned this painting with this frame in mind - even though it was an odd size. Look for gems in unlikely places!
