Medusa

ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, watercolor and gouache, 2008. Medusa was a sea nymph, the most beautiful of three sisters called the Gorgons. After making love to Poseidon in a temple dedicated to Athena, she was transformed by an angry Athena into a monstrous creature with snakes for hair. Anyone who looked upon her face was turned to stone. She was killed as she slept by Perseus who then cut off her head and used it as a weapon.

Yeek! O_O She's scary, indeed, but that's because you did such a good job of her!

Eeek, when I saw the thumbnail I was already thinking, that will be something!! It is, Mark. The best Medusa I have seen!! The first one with natural looking snake hair!
