As GM fauna swept uncontrollably across the country, councils were forced to increase road taxes to help eleviate the massive costs of keeping main roads clear. They had already given up on side, or minor roads. Now, as the plants unfolded all year round the cities became choked. Abandoning cars in there tens of thousands compounded the failer.
