March Sunset

This was my first finished digital painting done in March of 2007 stemming from an acrylic based painting previously done. This rendition is totally changed from the acrylic painting. My style & skill has improved since then, but I still kind a like this one.;)

oh this is so gorgoeus Ave

Artist Reply: Thankyou Jamie~ As this was done in less than a day at regular screen size, I will be further 'developing ' it by enlargining sections to detail and then reducing them to fit back into the overall scene, but that part will take a few weeks more effort. I was going over my files and had forgotten this one. I see mood difference in it and it just amazes me with all the possibilities in digital painting over straight on acrylics and in mixing the two as well. :) Ave

the colors are spectacular, well done

Artist Reply: Thanks Helen~ One thing i really like doing in digital art is the colors that can be achieved compared to just my acrylics~

Excellent work, Ave! Fabulous spring scene! Wonderful composition! Amazing colours!

Artist Reply: Thankyou Lili~ Looking at the way I did the detailing back then compared to now makes it look like another planet, lol.The smudging tool with my art program allows me to make the skies and water softer and more colorful. the detailing is trickier~ Back then it was 'as is'.. Now I take specific areas , enlarge them 1200% paint in what I want and then reduce them back to fit in right, which compensates for the pixels being little squares instead of round. Still I liked this one when I first finished it.
