That's wigeon not pigeon!!

A handsome male American Wigeon. Also known as Baldpate, although I have no idea why, nor do I like pate much. These birds are very wary and will usually take flight the second they are disturbed. Unlike many dabbling ducks, the Wigeon often spends the night on large open bays, sleeping in rafts well out from the shore. Taken at Burnaby Lake, Burnaby, B.C.
