Immature White Ibis Wings Spread

©Delores J. Knowles 2008 -- White Ibis (Eudociumus Albus) One of the most numerous wading birds in the southeast United States, it is also found in areas of mild climates throughout the world. Yes, this photo is a White Ibis -- one that has not reached adulthood. Although their white plumage is spectacular, I really think they are very pretty in their youth, too. I previously posted an image of an adult White Ibis in almost an identical pose. They were taken on the same day in Polk County, Florida.
