This tree is called a Dakekanba tree. It grows at higher elevations in Japan, from about 2000 metres to 2500 metres. These are the early October colours at Mt. Iide.
What incredible, beautiful colors! I love the contrast of the tree against the fall foliage.
Artist Reply: I will admit that I slid the saturation bar up from 50% to 55% but only because I found that digital cameras often reduce the saturation of the scene. I am used to the rich colours I get from using film.
