Brighter Days Ahead (Painted Coach Purse)

Brighter Days Ahead

This piece is a refurbished Coach handbag purse that was so much fun to create, and because there's art on both sides of this bag, its like getting two pieces of art in one!

It is called the "Bleecker Tote" Coach bag, (style No. K9D-6122) and is trimmed in dark navy blue leather, with canvas on both the front & back. I couldn't resist painting on the canvas (after priming with a coat of gesso, of course).

The colors here are so bright, and there's even some iridescent gold in a few areas, (to signify the bling or wealth that you will hopefully always enjoy with this bag).

If this bag doesn't brighten your day, nothing will! It will also make a fabulous Christmas or Holiday gift!

The colors are even deeper in person than I could show in the photos. Some of the colors I used are: quinicridone magenta, cobalt teal, cerulean blue, napthol red light, orang, primary yellow, green, purple, iridescent gold and payne's gray. The design is very fun and abstract with overlapping shapes and colors.

There is a large outside pocket for keys, pens, and other such items, and a smaller, zippered pocket inside the tote, for lipstick and such.

There are double leather shoulder straps that have an approx. 11" drop, and there is a hidden leather magnetic snap closure (inside the bag).

The inside of the bag has the Coach "creed" inscribed and reads: "This is a Coach handbag. It is handcrafted in the United States of the finest natural leather and a blend of Italian cotton and linen. This high- quality fabric is treated to be water and stain repellent".

Although this is a used bag, there are no tears or stains or odor, and just a minimal amount of normal "wear" on the leather, which is not even noticeable in my opinion. If you know the Coach brand, you know that this is a very high quality bag that will last for years and years.

Please note: this bag is a piece of art - and should be treated as such. The acrylic paint is impervious to water, so there's no worries of wearing it in the rain, but if there is a need to clean it, please just wipe with a SLIGHTLY damp cloth; do not use leather cleaners on the canvas artwork area, you can use them only on the leather areas.

This truly is a One-of-a-kind piece of artwork on a handbag, and will be noticed by everyone -- your friends will wonder where you got this wild and funky piece of bright, bold wearable art! Diane G. Casey
