Turkey Trot

On the perch,(bluff) on the property I am living, I spotted one of the several groups of turkeys off for an early morning stroll. Often they block my driveway and they take their time moving out of the way. Sometimes I have to 30 wild turkeys in my yard, sometimes they are my morning alarm clock. Beautiful birds to observe. More photos to come.

Beautiful shot Terry!!!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Joke! It seems we've a turkey santuary. I'll try to get some more photos of them up. I'm planning on donating some for AW's ArtMorgue.com for photo references since I can get so many shots.

Excellent work on this Dear Terry. Great work and perfect timing. Really brilliant photograph. Michael

Artist Reply: Thanks Miguel. It's a zoo out here, but love it. Last night racconns were running amuck teasing the dogs from outside their fenced yards. The racons coo and chatter loudly so the dogs go nuts. We might try to set up some cviseo cameras tocatch these visitors. So far I hear them, but can't seem to spot them.

A few wild turkeys visit my property on occasion, and I am always amazed that a bird of their size is actually able to fly! Interesting bird, indeed. Great shot Terry!!

Artist Reply: Thanks John. I am getting some shots of them roosting in trees in the evening. I spoted them on top of some tall pines around sunset. These are 2-3 story tall pines, and they are all up at the top branches. I knew they could fly some, but am watching them to see how high they fly up, and if they hop branches to go higher. Will post some photos of them when I get a spot to see them well enough for a capture.

Wow, Terry! How fortunate to have been able to capture this great scene!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Carliss, they roost inthe pine trees at night. I'm working on some shots of that. They are fearless of my dogs and will strut passed them in the fenced yard area. It drives the dogs mad. At least the dogs are trainned not to go after them if out aroud when the turkeys march by.
