Many marriages in other countries were arranged by parents or others for financial or territorial reasons, sometimes to keep certain lineages pure; it is a practice frowned upon by those of us who live in a democratic [and I might add, spoiled] society. However, looking at divorce rates, maybe we should allow those who have better sense make decisions that are supposed to last a lifetime. This arrangement reminds me of what can happen when someone creative chooses to put things together that might not otherwise fit exactly. Just a thought. . . . Copyright 2007 Dell Belew
