Doorkeep

There is a modest section of Lexington east of the Virginia Military Institute known to locals as "Diamond Hill". Small homes with even smaller yards that were mostly built on the steep narrow streets when horses were the mode of transportation. The "Doorkeep" was on the porch of one of those small homes regarding all with the dignity of a stone lion; guarding a master that reigned undisputed at least beyond this door. "Doorkeep" is on hotpressed 300 lb Arches paper 30" x 22" and will be part of an exhibition at the Academy of Fine Ats in Lynchburg, Va. (Mr. Ted Batt, Exhibitions Curator AcademyFineArts.com) Nov-Dec 2007 with a Nov. preview in the Arts and Education Lobby.
