On day nine we returned to Notre Dame to view the interior. We were not disappointed. This cathedral is beautiful, built upon an ancient pagan sacred site. The stained glass works are exquisite, and the statuary lifelike. Outside the cathedral on the square facing the entrance of Notre Dame, we stood upon the spot that is considered Kilometre Zero of French national highways and the official center of the city of Paris. On our walk along the River Seine back to the studio, we were caught in a sudden downpour of rain. We hurried across the bridge and ducked into a small cafe. There we enjoyed a glass of excellent merlot, along with a delicious dish of escalloped fish and potatoes. It was another wonderful day. Image captured 09/24/2007.
