Grim Reaper

Hello everyone; in between my busy moments I found a little time to create this abstract image in Acrylic's. As you possibly already know, I like red. Here in the real world its more orange but I guess that's not a huge shift in the colour spectrum. Its abstract & influenced by a growing trend here in the UK. Young people like to wear Hoods & are referred to as Hoodies. Sadly many of them are gang members; but not all. These gangs have bitter rivalries which leads to violence & death. Needless & mindless deaths fueled by a mis-placed idea that they are tough & some how macho. They use guns & knifes as if it was all a game. Family's & communities are left devastated by the killings. The gangs are made up of both little boys & little girls. Kids as young as 10 roaming our streets armed & dangerous full of intent. Barely old enough to wipe there own backsides yet brave enough to point a gun & shoot someone. Who is to blame for all of this; society. No its not society its the PARENT'S. Kids need parents to teach them right from wrong & clearly those parent's are failing in their duty to their kids & society. Where will it all end.

Great work Robin! A strong piece!!!!I see what you are saying too! I think a lot of parents are so busy trying to earn money to feed their families they don't have the energy or the time to supervise the kids! The cost of living is crazy, it's such a shame!

Wonderful work Robin. Unfortunately, we in the US are too familiar with this type of thing. You're right. If parents spent more time with their children perhaps there would be no need for these children to seek out 'family ties' with these gangs. How senseless.

Brilliant painting and the narrative is very thought provoking. Excellent work, my dear friend. Michael
