A Moment In Time

I like to take photographs from different angles. This one shows the blending of souls of my two dogs, Molly and Mikey. It is great to capture precious moments like this especially since Dr. Mikey is camera shy. Maybe he had too much notoriey in this career as a therapist at Children's Hosptal. I was impressed by the letters Mikey wrote to Molly when she was away for a week at canyon view ranch for dogs. He went to the same camp two years ago and like many children, Mikey discovered Camp was not for him and came home before the camp session ended demonstrating how important it is to attend to the differences in our children and animals. Sociable Molly loved it and can't wait to return. If you go to www.canyonviewranch.com, you will understand how a dog who adores water and retrieving balls would believe this dog camp is nirvana. Mikey gave me permission to read one of his favorite poems by Pablo Neruda that he mailed to his beloved Molly. She told me when she came home with many stories about the canine campers that Mikey's poem brought tears to her eyes. I wish humans had as much respect and caring for those they love. "Your breast is enough for my heart, and my wings for your freedom. What was sleeping above your soul will rise out of my mouth to heaven. In you is the illusion of each day. You arrive like the dew to the cupped flowers. You undermine the horizon with your absence. Eternally in flight like the wave. I have said that you sang in the wind like the pines and like the masts. Like them you are tall and taciturn, and you are sad, all at once, like a voyage. You gather things to you like an old road. You are peopled with echoes and nostalgic voices. I awoke and at times birds fled and migrated that had been sleeping in your soul.

ah such sweet bonds of love, my pic today!

Artist Reply: You are the best auntie Jo we could ever hope for. I am still concerned about Jacob and knowing you are his mommy gives me great relief. Please keep me, Mikey and my mom informed on his progress. I will write more later, but it is my bedtime. I think I will sleep in my own room. Wait until you see the beautiful duvet my Daddy made me after I came home from camp. Molly
