'Le Jolie Rouge'

Le Jolie Rouge (Pretty man in red) was the name of Black Bart Roberts who dressed in Red silks before battle. The skull and crossbones on a black flag were first used in 1700. I the victim refused to surrender upon seeing the Black flag, a red flag was then raised, saying that no Quarter would be granted. Cheers! (C)2007 BSutton
