Delmiro Augusto da Cruz Gouveia, from Ipu in the state of Ceará, became known and rich in the city of Recife where at a tender age he had moved with his mother, Leonila Flora. Later on, orphan and poor, he faced life alone, working as tram conductor, typesetter and in a fur exportation business. He was assassinated when he was reading the newspaper on his porch in Pedra at 54 years of age. The picture measures 30cm high and 50cm wide.
