Emotions on Canvas

The second painting is more abstract. I began the painting in the way Marilyn did, with an unconscious line. However, from there I only picked out a few lines that really appealed to me. I experimented more with the different materials I used in this painting. To me, the painting represents the emotions felt during life. I used darker colours on top of the brighter colours I had painted the day before, I made some areas much darker, blending into the lighter colours and adding black wool to emphasise this. The painting represents how I felt on those two days and how over a period of time, the emotions roll together to form a week, a month or a longer period of time.

I have read with much interest the story of your painting. I like this painting. No worries, the emotions you have painted are still in good balance. I can see this in de whole composition. A advise from someone who had painted for years...be yourself and stay yourself in art and in life. That makes you special!

Feelings are important, but must be balanced with equal parts intellect or the cake comes out all wrong. I like the pure colours injected into the piece. You are intelligent and creative, Laura. Good work!
