My big brother, many years ago! You wont guess what hes holding...because its not there... that part of the painting is bare canvas. I was dealing with the relationship between the photographic image, painting, and reality among other things. This needs an essay really but i prefer to leave it to you and your imagination.

Every part of this painting is so well executed, the clear differences of the various textures, the light and shade, and those hands! my word they are wonderful! The little boy looks completely fascinated by the thing in his hand; my wild guess is that it is something like a beetle, or a spider. :) Gwen.Jarka Drechslerová 20 Apr 2007
