The first painting in the Casual Observers triptych - the title derives from a fashion shoot in ID magazine in the feb 2006 issue. The clothes were crap but I liked the title - because that's what I am - a casual observer. I'm inspired by anything and everything that I happen to see. The premise for the painting was to capture 24 hours in an individual's life. I have lot's of drawings that I've done over the last year that I haven't really used and this painting gave me a chance to see an idea come full circle. I also like graphic animation/comics and I wanted to style the painting as a rather large page. In case you're wondering the angel wings were supposed to be tattoos - I know he looks like he's dressed in a fairy costume - whatever.
