River 'Cloud'

A disk of images I had scanned three years ago came to me from Canada a few weeks ago and I finally had a chance to look through what was on there. This photo was made in spring in the upper canyon area of the Ara River (Arakawa), in Saitama, Japan. The water was constantly moving and changing the shape of the white area. I made three exposures but only one turned out as I had hoped. This is it.

bravo.... ilove the colours...looks like a painting

Artist Reply: The motioned of water captured in a photograph often gives the impression of a painting. I like it when photography and painting can blur this way.

It became a very interesting abstract!

Artist Reply: Yes. I like how the cloudy white water looks like an extension of the solid rock.
