Zenshi

Zenshi was my first Akita companion, a fine, gentle, beloved spirit. I meant to do her portrait simply straighforward in representation, but I think my feelings for her brought out a bit of a whimsical touch without even realising it while painting.I find it interesting how sometimes we can have a particular approach/expectation in mind while creating a piece of art, but somehow inner workings of our mind & heart bring forth something a little (or a lot) different...

Hello Kathy! How's everything with you and yours. I hope you're well and happy. This is loving protrait of your best friend. It's a wonderful work. The detail on the nose and eyes is outstanding. He has such a gentle expression. I'm a bit nervous of dogs but I feel sure that if I met Zenshi it would be love at first sight. Beautiful!

Your love is clearly reflected in this beautiful and poignant portrait of Sergio. His eyes are simply stunning reinforcing that animals have an array of emotions captured so beautifully by you skill and love for our devoted best friends. Dogs are such great subjects for any genre of art and I too love the special moments we can capture with our animals. Mikey and Molly, my two dogs have many pictures in my portfolio under dogs and a story I am creating for Molly, a rare breed of Irish Setter whose boyfriend Mikey, 7 years older than his beloved one year old playmate have helped me take some of my best and humorous photographs. Mikey told me that Zenshi is gorgeous with those compelling eyes and beautifully textured furry coat. I think Molly is glad that he is a long commute from our home in Los Angeles. I absolutely adore dogs as you will see if you want to visit my two dogs that like you bring out the most loving feelings as they tell stories with their funny and touching moments like this, a dog that is clearly a very precious part of your life. She looks like an old soul. What a great companion and how lucky she is to have you as her adoring mommy.
