"MURDERERS I HAVE KNOWN--JACK RUBY" .

. This is a photograph taken in the Dallas County Jail of Jack Ruby, the man who shot and killed Presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. My Uncle was an FBI agent in Dallas working on the case and he gave me this snapshot of Jack Ruby.

For some unfathomable reason, I was personally involved, or rather my path crossed many of the particulars in this story.

I had been to Jack Ruby's club with my wife. I saw the swarthy /stocky man there.

The police officer that Oswald killed on Tenth Street (after he shot the president) was Office J.D Tippet. I knew him well, for he moonlighted at Austin's Barbecue where I spent a great deal of time. In fact he arrested a friend of mine one night that I was drinking coffee with at the time (officer Tippit told me that my friend was "a wise ass and a sass talker," and then Officer Tippet advised me not to drink coffee with him again...)

And another officer that I knew was Pat Ganaway. He arrested Oswald at the Texas Theater after scuffling with Oswald and wrestling him to the ground. This incident was not without some amazing occurences. Lee Harvey Oswald was subdued and handcuffed and led away, but not before Sergeant Ganaway was probably thanking God that he was still alive.. While being thrown to the floor during his arrest, Oswald placed his gun's barrel to Officer Ganaway's head and clicked off a round. The gun misfired...Other wise Officer Ganaway's brains would have been splattered all over the Texas Theater floor. Later, the police test fired Oswald's pistol a hundred times and it fired perfectly every time...

It was on Tenth Street where Oswald was stopped by Office Tippit and Oswald shot the man to death one block down for where my children's Pediatrician's office was located.

Officer Tippet's son went to school with me.

I often went to the Texas Theater too, Before this all took place

I bought a piano from Lee Harvey Oswald's land lady before Lee fired off those fatal shots from a window at the School Book Depository.

And then later Marina Oswald Porter (Oswald's widow) became a customer of mine...

I guess this is all part of that theory that everyone is only separated by 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon or anyone on the planet ( Kevin Bacon..oh him, Kevin Bacon has tried to get my niece to go out with him)

.. Instead of the theoretical 6 degrees of separation --it seems I was somehow about 3 degrees away from this scene...Don't ask me why..only God knows what cosmic significance it has or has not...
