Black Eyed Susans Vatiety

I spotted some Black Eyed Susans growing in a local park in Maryland. They caught my eye as they had several in one area with extra colors in the centers. Usually, you might find one like this in hundreds of blooms, but in this area, there were a number of them. I love the colorful twist that they have and wish I could have gotten some seeds to take home. Alas, these were all in Maryland, and as the state flower, you can not bother them, they are protected. It figures, as I started seeing the flowers on my trip across the states this summer as early as Texas. None of the places I saw them had this type mutated variety.

Very beautiful Terry

Artist Reply: Thanks Thea! I have loved these since a child. They were forbidden to pick, as I grew up in Maryland, and that's the state flower. So, have grown my own, out of state when I could, just so I could pick some and not get in trouble! LOL!
