(c)2006 Now in color,...the U.S. Navy has launched it's newest destroyer, the U.S.N. Poseidon. On it's maiden voyager in the Mediterranean Sea. Only this is not new years eve,..and it's a calm sea. When a rogue wave suddenly hits the ship broadside! The rogue wave, as they are called, is real. They can hit at anytime, without warning, and have sunk or severely damaged many a vessel throughout history. Often thought to be old sailors stories or folklore,...the rogue wave has recently , for the first time, been caught on film by a sailor on a huge oil tanker. The rogue wave in the video made the huge tanker look like a toy boat in the bathtub. Scientists are trying hard to use satelite technology to locate and predict rogue waves.
