©2006 Shari Morfin - This is a contemporary, mixed media, original work of art perfect for bringing serenity into your home's decor. My goal in creating this piece was to add color and pattern with the design and to provide an artsy feel by printing the work on mounted canvas. Serenity is a one of a kind work, which will not be reproduced on canvas again (except for my own personal collection.) This collage features a photograph of a peaceful, golden buddha statue which was digitally altered into a number of different versions with exposures, colors, effects and crops that were perfected in various editing programs. The best of these were then combined and arranged in a template for extra symmetry and pattern. A glossy print was made on Kodak Endura silver based paper, the emulsion of which is then heat & pressure bonded to museum quality canvas and stretched & mounted on a wooden artist canvas. The sides of the canvas are hand painted black. The size is 14"H x 11"W and the work is signed and numbered on the back as work 1 of 1 by the artist.
