Journey to Freedom

This painting was painted during one of the most emotionally intense periods of my life, and is probably one of the biggest paintings ive ever made (2 big planks of wood brought together). It was painted as a final project for my advanced art class, and was started and finished in exactly 7 days. it remains one of the few paintings that really became the carbon copy of the metaphorical images in my mind - Transition from a state of true helpless entrappment (left) leading to the will to break free despite restraints (middle), and then actually breaking free (right). One's whole life, it seems, is a yoyo of coming and going back and forth between each of these stages.

AWSOME. I am so for the womens movement but on a professional note this is a strong statement, I love it. When I look at this I feel the intensity the power the excitement in the moment. I can feel the moment. Thank You so much for bringing me their, and for reminding me how much work still needs done. AWSOME !!!!! :)
