The atmosphere at Orcas Island in early March can change rapidly. I had to stay with my original impulse for the painting from my early morning walk. The texture from the minerals in these watercolors are fantastic and need to be seen up close. Daniel Smith has a wonderful high mineral content line of watercolors which contribute to amazing little color collisions.
