Golden Girl Jerry Stith completed this multi-colored ballpoint pen drawing. Im the founder of a new American Folk art program called BallPoint Pen Art. Introducing what a ballpoint pen can do is part of what my program does. Pen & ink has been around for the past four thousand years and a ballpoint pens oil-based inks produce the most brilliant colors. I always thought the pen & ink art world was limited because dark rich colors were never developed. That seemed to hold back popularity and support.***** I found out that if you draw portraits of known people the colors used meant little. Powerful colors and a popular face most often produced a pretty picture. Make your drawing pretty, as a picture was the thought. Strong colors; sharp contrast, bold lines and sublet half tone polished lines makes a drawing like this work. Powers found in the dark contrasting colors, long flowing or bold lines and that solid split background. A colorist doing impressionism is a change from photo-realism and much more fun or relaxing for Me.***** Ballpoint pens deliver darker colors than all water-based inks throughout history. Our bright colors, bold lines and half tones put us on equal footing with other mediums or media instead of just black and white. Finally impressive colors and details of the pen world united and remarkable pictures have developed or became produced. My style in this drawing is bold, colorful and rather exciting! Jerry Stith
