Designed by Sergio Pininfarina, the Fiat 124 Sport Spider was introduced in late 1966. Over the years a variety of changes took place such as the hood blisters on the B-model that were needed to provide clearance for a larger engine and impact absorbing bumpers necessitated by U.S. low speed crash regulations but the car retained its appeal and by the time production ended in 1985 198,000 units had been produced.
