My favorite of all; just like the dog to pull ahead - looks exactly like him with his floppy ear. The two figures are proportioned well - (seeing it be I know them) looks exactly like them as well. I like the colors and the bright tree - reminds me just of a NC fall. I feel as though I want to say "wait" - so that I can catch up and walk with them OR watch and giggle to see how the dog is going to pull around the mans back. he he

I dont comment much on figure work because I don't paint them, myself; but this one has a touch of humour in it, with the dog clearly about to push on ahead of dad; and you can almost guess what might happen next. The figures are walking into the picture, giving a sense of direction, and the sunlight plays interestingly on the boy's clothes. The autumn colours are perhaps a touch sombre, but it would be right for them to take second place to the figures.
