Encaustic Sushi

This is an encaustic collage. I used the wax medium as the glue to hold the collage materials in place. This piece measures 12X12 inches. The basis or theme of this piece was memories. I have incorporated many things that I loved as a child and an adult. You can see how I used many tools to burn into the wax to make different shapes. My philosphy with this medium is that if it does not melt in the wax I can use it to leave my impression.

Amazing! Dear, sweet, delightful treasures, just like sushi. I love this piece! It really showcases the encaustic process as well as standing on its own.
