I used a lot techniques for this;I mixed pure pigments with linseed oil or turpentine,there are a lot of layers.I wanted the viewer to 'travel' into this.It's also about the play of light on the sea and the constant movement and changing colours.

Artist Reply: I named this 'mermaid' because mermaids are elusive,and i've often thought i saw something that turned out to be something else,such is the nature of the sea.
