Painting in Blue Light

This photograph came about during a visual journey through a 200mm lens. Icicles were hanging over a stream from the underside of a snowcovered fallen log. I captured several compositions, this one being the last and my favourite. The blue colour is caused by the blue light in the shadow of the log and the smokey area is the stream running during the 8-second exposure. Minolta Maxxum 7000, 75-200mm lens, Fujichrome Velvia, no filter, no colour manipulation. Copyright Peter Skov
