A consolation prize is a small reward given to a runner-up or a person who fails to win a contest or achieve a major goal, meant to ease the disappointment of losing. Some, I think, are more insult than balm. One might say 'some' prize is better than none, but I wonder about the validity of that assumption. This is made using my constantly evolving custom compound, floral foam, a craft stick and some found objects. The aqua-blue 'jewel' within the triangle was found near the sidewalk on my way to check my mail. An added bonus, I found later, is that it glows in the dark. The four blood-red 'jewels' around the base were found on a recent trip to The Last Ditch Goodwill. There are two glass beads of different colors in the center of the eyes. I used acrylic to paint it, of course. It measures only 10 inches tall with the white base measuring 3.5 by 3 inches. If it isn't necessarily a prize, it's still Original Jones Art coming at you from northwest Austin, Texas.
