We had a storm system meander through the area last night which ushered in a nice cool front, that, coupled with a thick cloud cover, made it a most enjoyable day. I can tell you that the birds enjoyed it. Well, maybe the three young male mockingbirds who chased each other shouting what I assume were epithets, could have had better. This is an 8 by 5.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art thinks a lot of folks seem to forget they look up and see the same sky as everyone else does in northwest Austin, Texas. And elsewhere.

Sounds like a nice break from the heat , Charles. . Mockingbirds can be quite protective of their nests . There were some in LA that dive at your head if you come close . Your well rendered character seems to be scanning the skies : )

Artist Reply: Yes, it was, Dave, but not for my 3D work. But I took it in stride. 'Gather ye roasbuds while ye may' as Herrick once wrote. So I made the most of the day in a different way.. BUT the sun is out today and so are my three components. Happy Friday the 13th! :)

That sux Charles I hate storms especially the unexpected ones lol;D nice drawing

Artist Reply: We've been a bit behind the 8-ball regarding rain the last several years, so I never bitch and moan when I hear thunder and the patter of rain, Ray. Have a good one! :)
