I did a drawing several years back with this title. The character in it also had a small crown cocked to one side on its head. It is made of my special compound, wood, newsprint and two glass beads. It stands 15.75 inches tall, 5 inches deep and 5 inches wide. It represents just over a month's worth of work though the weather outside did not cooperate during some of this time. Some would-be kings want folks to think they are blue-blooded---but try just a might too hard. Original Jones Art just keeping busy in northwest Austin, Texas.

It's gorgeous Charles. Take care.

Artist Reply: Thanks, John! I want to do a really large piece soon but we'll have to wait and see what develops. Hope all is good with you. :)

Hi Charles,,,,,very creative,I've viewed some of your other ones similar to this character, terrific imagination,I play Chess & this guy sure reminds me of the Bishop, very similar characteristics, sure could Camouflage wonderfully on the Board,,Again we enjoy your Postings,We would like to Comment more often but being now almost 80 with health issues,I have difficulty Typing most of the times,,,,,,Enjoy the Weather,

Artist Reply: Thank, Al. And say hi to the missus. Yeah, he was fun and time-consuming to make but I think he holds his own okay. Someone actually suggested I make a custom Chess board set years ago. I guess it could be easily done. Ha. I say that but I know it will take some effort. Speaking of effort, thanks for your effort and support, Al. :)

Love it Charles , it came out super ! Has a jack in the box feel too with the pedestal . Eye catching blue color . Looks good in profile and straight on . 5 stars : )

Artist Reply: Yes, I had thought of the 'jack in the box' effect. I originally had the sides bare. When I looked at it later, I knew it needed something along those sides. I was making something that would have been larger and deeper for that purpose when I found an empty container of BuzzBallz, an alcoholic beverage, on the edge my my driveway. I picked it up and noticed a design in the plastic bottom. I used that indenture as a mold to create what you see on the bottom sides. I painted it a purplish color since royalty is associated with it. It also contrasted well with the light yellow sides. You could say that someone's litter became a tool for yours-truly. Hope all is good, Dave. :)
