When I was a kid, my mom would go to the beauty shoppe several times a year to get what she called a permanent. I always thought it odd that something with that name would prove to be so impermanent. While I was working on this character's hair, I was reminded of that memory and looking at the hair-do, titled it thusly. This is an 8 by 7.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art, still resurrecting memories in northwest Austin, Texas.

Hi Charles: The perm really isn't. Paradoxically ironic or something like that. Take care

Artist Reply: Hey, I was a kid, John. Kids have a tendency to take things literally. Words and phrases have been a 'thing' of mine for a LONG time, you might say. And memories pop of willy-nilly at the strangest times and in the most unexpected of places. Hope all is going great for you today. :)

He's a stylin', Charles . Interesting memory too . I remember having to wait for my mom at the beauty parlor while she sat under the helmet thingy , right out of the Jetsons : ) Hope you had a good weekend

Artist Reply: It was quiet and uneventful, for the most part. I may have to unplug my NOA weather radio since it keeps going off and telling me the same thing every 10 or 15 minutes. There's a storm to the south of me which will, hopefully, bring some rain. I can do without the 50 MPH winds and the hail though. I can barely hear thunder here so, if it goes off again, I'm jerking the plug. Hope you are doing fine. :)
