Texas had a pretty hard cold snap (for us) these last several days. Today is the first day this old bear ventured out of his cave and sniffed the open air. I even placed a couple of 3D things I've been working on out in the sun. BUT during my accidental hibernation, I did manage to draw some small 3 by 2.5 inches gel pen drawings. Back in 2018 about this time of the year, the school I was working for had a Book Fair and the librarian placed tables for his sale books and odds and ends out in the hall near my work room. Over the course of the first day, I heard, "Is there anything for a dollar or less?" at least four or more times On a whim, I made a little fold-able placard that read: 'MR. JONES DRAWINGS 25 cents each or 5 for a dollar' and placed it on one of the sale tables. I cut index cards in half like i did here and made some quick sketches. Over the course of the next few days, I had to draw replacements for the first batch at least 4 times. I had made the kids happy and I'd made myself happy at the same time. Anyway, Original Jones Art still tries for a bit of joy in a world that continues to bury itself in a black void of greed and misery. All the while, sitting in his little hovel in northwest Austin, Texas.

Awe you your productivity, Charles, regarding your story about making kids happy. However, I recognize myself in your commercial success:))).

Artist Reply: Well, it can't really be considered a 'commercial' success since I gave the library any monies made on my tiny efforts, Nikolay. But you and I know there are greater rewards than the monetary ones. Hope you are doing fine. :)

Quality b&w renderings , Charles and a nice thing to do for those kids : )

Artist Reply: Well, what I didn't say in my rather verbose description, is that I had the placard and the last few drawings sitting on my coffee table here at the house. An artist from Fort Worth visited me last year and after he left I found a dollar bill sitting on the coffee table. He had picked up five drawings unbeknownst to me. There were only three rather anemic ones left, so I thought I'd make some new ones. I've drawn something over 20 of them and that equals to about as many as I drew in 2018 for each batch. Hope your weather has gotten better, Dave. It got up to something over 60 today and is supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. Yay! :)
