Spirit of the Island I, detail This soft pastel on charcoal paper image called "Spirit of the Island" was drawn after I communed with the Spirit of the British Virgin Islands and the Caribbean islands at large. The meditation brought forth phenomenal information of the presence of Spirit on land and in the sea over vast periods of Time. I sensed how old the islands were, predating historical information or documentation from archaeological sites. At one time the peaks of these hills were where people lived. Now, the tallest of them all, Sage Mountain, is 1780 feet above sea level. Sea animals "appeared" and energies swam with them in the sea. If you look closely, you will see Spirit energy in the sea with marine animals, some recognizable, some not. The heart of the Island beats infusing all with energy that sustains and connects them with nature, the seen and the unseen.
