Oban Sunset Texture

Oban, gateway to the Highlands of Scotland has inspired many of my sunset paintings over the years and continues to do so. The rich colours of the sunset and reflections of the water really inspire me. Texture plays a big part in this painting both in the sky and in the water making it a very tactile painting which shimmers from all angles thanks to the use of gold metallic colours with the dark of the boats and St. Columba's Cathedral offering contrast to the sky.
