My 94-year-old neighbor upstairs perches on my building's front steps every day to gaze upon her domain. She's an immigrant from Ireland who came over with American GIs after WW2 on a battleship. Although she's been in my building for more than six decades, she still maintains her Irish brogue. Unfortunately, our block gets infested with rats Monday morning due to garbage pick-up. Nora steadfastly remains on the steps like REGAL statuary.
