"Go find a painting you really like and copy it". That's what art teachers often say. So I did. This is my version of Ludwig Knaus' "Girl in a Field" painted in 1857. I was definitely in over my head most of the time but I learned a lot. I chose to name this work ELIZABETH because that's what my wife and I would have called our daughter had we ever had a daughter. I'd like to think Elizabeth would have gotten her mother's good looks and my curiosity---Like this little girl-- gathering wildflowers. Acrylic on canvas, 16x20.
